What we’re doing to get you back on your mat & keep all clients and staff safe and healthy… CLASS DIFFICULTY LEVELS & MASKS: We are all beginners again! Even our teachers have been away from in-studio classes for almost 6 months. As we all adjust to teaching/practicing with a mask on as required by New York State & the Suffolk County Department of Health, we will teach all classes at a beginner level and classes will be one hour in duration. Please be assured our teachers will teach no more than ½ the class in standing postures and ½ the class in floor postures. We will start simply and evolve. We will not be offering any hands-on adjustments for the time being. As time goes on we will be able to add more classes, vary difficulty levels, styles of yoga, and length of classes. We encourage you to take a lot of breaks and rest throughout the classes as desired. Masks may be removed to take sips of water when needed. You will be encouraged to step outside of the studios during class if you wish to remove your mask for longer periods of time and rejoin when ready. We have found that practicing with a mask on is absolutely feasible, even in the hot room! Remember our Moon studio offers warm and non-heated classes including barre fusion, Yin yoga, and chair yoga. For some of you this may be a perfect time to try out our Buddha Beach Moon Studio. CLASS SIZE: Class sizes will be limited in order to ensure safe social distancing practice. Class sizes based on the requirements from NYS & the Suffolk County Department of Health. Currently we will be at 33% capacity. Students will be limited to practicing once per day. We will clearly mark spots for you to place your mats ensuring you remain 6 feet apart from your fellow yoga students. We will be offering POD classes where you can arrange to have an exclusive practice with your friends and/or family at a specific day(s)/time(s). Email kerri@buddhabeachyoga.com to schedule at either of our studios. CLASS PACKAGES: If you had an active package with us as of 3/16/20 we will honor the balance when we re-open. Unfortunately we have to manually adjust each student’s expiration date or extension in our software. Please email buddhabeachyoga@gmail.com when you wish to return to your practice. We will need 24-48 hours to adjust your account so you can book on our app or webpage. New multiple class packages will be valid for 12 months so you can be assured that you will have ample time to utilize classes. Prices have increased to reflect the limited class size mandates. We will revisit this as NYS relaxes restrictions on gyms and fitness facilities. We are not offering multiple month, monthly auto-pay discounted contracts, or annual packages for the time being but will extend expiration dates on these previously purchased packages. CANCELLATION NO/SHOW FEE: Due to the class size limits you must pre-register for classes and be sure to cancel your reservation if you are not attending. Walk-ins will be accommodated if possible. For unlimited packages, a cancellation fee of $10.00 will be charged if class is not cancelled 24 hours before class as those on the wait list need to be contacted. For class card packages, the class will be deducted from your package. TEMPERATURE CHECKS: Temperature checks will be requested upon entering the studios. If temperature is not of normal range, you will be asked to leave. CLEANING: Buddha Beach Yoga has always had a regular cleaning protocol, but now we are adding an extra level of cleaning and sanitization with EPA approved disinfectants before and after classes. In addition we have purchased far UV-C light towers that will be used in the studios between classes to disinfect surfaces. High touch surfaces will be cleaned at regular intervals. As always, cleaning products will be on hand if you wish to sanitize your own mat or props. Hand sanitizer will be available at the studio. Touchless soap dispensers have been placed in the restrooms and we have added disposable towels. ONLINE & SUP YOGA: Because of the limits in class size we will begin to offer a few online classes again in addition to our live classes. SUP YOGA will continue as long as the weather cooperates and students keep attending. FACE COVERINGS: Masks must be worn in the studio at all times. If you arrive without a mask, you will be given a disposable paper mask at a fee of $1.00 while supplies last. This will automatically be charged to your account. Please note that buffs, gaiters, and bandanas are NOT acceptable face coverings according to the latest CDC guidelines. SHOWERS: All showers will be closed until further notice. Clean air and clean studios have always been crucial for us! AIR FILTRATION: We have upgraded our air filtration at both studios to MERV13 as recommended. We also have multiple exterior exits that will be opened after every class. This allows additional fresh air to enter our HVAC units multiple times a day. HUMIDITY CONTROL: Humidity helps! We’ve always known that humidity, in addition to making the room more comfortable, inhibits the transmission of viruses. You might want to add a humidifier or two at home as well. See a recent study here: https://www.studyfinds.org/yale-study-humidity-inside-house-critical-curbing-airborne-transmission-covid-19-coronavirus/ CLEANING PROTOCOL: We are following the NYS Business Forward reopening guidelines that are mandatory for gyms and fitness studios. We are increasing the time between classes to thoroughly sanitize the studio. Extra attention will be paid to high tough surfaces such as door knobs. Studios will be disinfected with a cleaning solution that has been approved by the EPA to kill COVID-19. In addition we will utilize far UV-C light towers between classes which can eliminate COVID-19 on surfaces. What we need from you… BOOKING CLASSES: With limited space in classes, you must pre-register for all classes. This can be done on Buddha Beach Yoga website/app. Registration for classes will open 72 hours ahead of time. 1 CLASS PER DAY: Please limit booking to no more than 1 class per day for in-studio classes. We know some of you like to double up, but with limited space, let’s be fair to others trying to book. WAIVERS: New liability waivers/COVID-19 waivers will need to be completed by all clients. If you have not completed a new waiver online we will have print copies at the studios for you to sign. HEALTH CHECKLISTS: We are required to have you complete a short questionnaire about your health as it relates to COVID-19 every time you practice and we must keep this information on file for approximately one month. We will have an online version and print copies at the studio. You must fill out a new form each time you practice. If you answer yes to any of the questions on the form you will need to remain at home. These forms are required by NYS for the purpose of contact tracing in the event it is needed. Before attending any class, please ask yourself these questions: 1) Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19? 2) Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat that could be related to COVID-19? 3) Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours? 4) Have you travelled to an area that is experiencing high rates of COVID-19 community spread in the last 14 days for more than 24 hours that would require you to adhere to a NYS mandatory travel quarantine? If the answer is yes to any of the above questions, please stay home until you are not experiencing any symptoms or have met the quarantine guidelines. TOUCH-LESS PAYMENTS PREFERRED: Please add an active credit card to your Buddha Beach Yoga profile for all in studio purchases if possible. You can store credit card information in your student record in our app & on our website. Cash transactions are discouraged at this time. You may put any amount of money “on account” to use for class packes, or nominal purchases such as beverage purchases by speaking with a teacher before/after class. WHAT TO BRING: Please bring anything you will need for class with you, but please leave large bags and personal items at home. We have limited space for personal item storage at this time. We have bottled water for sale, but the shared water cooler has been removed at the sun studio for the time being. We will not be allowed to offer any shared items such as mats, straps, blocks, etc. We will have inventory on hand for you to purchase if needed. WHEN TO ARRIVE/LEAVE: Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before class starts unless you need to register as a new student and sign a waiver in person. An empty studio and lobby between classes is crucial so we can thoroughly clean and sanitize. Please limit socialization in the studio but rather meet your fellow yogis and teachers outside either in front or behind our studios. When possible we ask that you enter through our front doors and exit through our back doors to keep foot traffic flowing smoothly. BE FLEXIBLE: Please be flexible and receptive to the changes we have had to make. We are all in this together and learning as we go. Please pay attention to the schedule on Buddha Beach Yoga’s webpage and app as classes might be added or taken off based on the daily events. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ON YOUR MAT SOON |
